Our Frames Are 100% Hand Crafted In Titanium To Spin Your Ride. From £990, with complete bikes from £2099.

At Spin we believe in titanium. Or, put another way, we have yet to find a better material from which to produce bike frames that require the highest performance, longevity and aesthetics.

You can read all about the reasons why in greater detail on the next tab (click the Why Buy? tab above). But put simply: if you're looking for a high performance lightweight bike; you're paying the bills rather than getting paid to ride; you want a bike that stands out from the crowd, looks great today and will look just as good in 20 or 30 years; won't rust, corrode, flake or de-laminate; and will stand up to any amount of year-round, all-season abuse you choose to throw at it, then titanium is in fact your only choice!

But not all titanium is created equal
When we say titanium we really mean titanium alloyed with vanadium and aluminium in a precise aerospace certified grade, then drawn into seamless thin-walled single and double butted tubing. But even that is nowhere near enough with which to create the ultimate metal bikes. But it's most definitely the right place to start. What's next is to optimise a frame's force-dispertion, ride characteristics and weight. The route we choose is geometrical engineering. What's that? Starting out with mostly round tubes, we put these through tortuous multi-stage mechanical processes. The result is frame tubing that morphs and changes continuously in shape, profile and hence in performance characteristics from one end to the other, for example to better handle different forces exerted simultaneously at the head tube and bottom bracket.

So what's the difference from one titanium bike and the next? An excellent guide is the craft on show
As well as having the right material from which to craft it, a great bike frame depends on other equally important factors. Geometry is one. Size another. Then there's the level of craftsmanship and skill invested in the fabrication process. Without these the bike won't look sharp and may not last, no matter what wonder material its made from. Taking aerospace strength tubes but tacking them together in the wrong way is a disaster in the making. Welding titanium isn't easy or quick. It requires a 100% inert environment to avoid inferior, highly compromised jointing. It's the weak link in the chain. Amazingly few people on the planet have the skills and experience to do it. Fewer still to aerospace quality. And only a mere handful who can combine aerospace industry standards with beauty that requires no re-finishing, filing or dressing for presentation.

Needless to say, at Spin, this last category is the one that all our Ti frames and parts demand. And we're proud to say that our craftsmen and women deliver.

Why "where's it made?" is much less important than "who made it, and why?"
We get asked "where's it made?" all the time. The individual components that make up every bike on sale today are made the world over, and Spin Cycles are no different. So it's a difficult question to answer precisely and accurately. In short, we fabricate our parts in Asia; and build, finish and customise in the UK. Incidentally, our family-owned business has been designing and fabricating precision engineered products at our workshops and plants in Asia for more than 20 years.

As interesting as it is though, we reckon a much more important question to ask is "who made it?" and "do they love what they do?" We believe the answer to both these questions is obvious when you take a good hard look at our bikes, study the details and admire the workmanship and craft on display. The answer lies in every weld, along every complex tube shape manipulation and in every bespoke customisation and finishing detail we put in to every one of our bikes.

To achieve such quality and to do so consistently we seek and employ the very best talent and resources available, and we travel the globe to do so. Manufacturing, fabrication and build locations are determined first and foremost by access to the greatest pools of human talent as well as the supply/support infrastructure we require. As a result, we now find ourselves with around half of our dedicated bicycle making team in England and half in the Far East.

Spin chooses to be international in our production precisely because we choose quality as our number one product criteria. And besides, it's in the very DNA of Spin's founders & owners, staff & partners. We don't know or understand any other way.

Spin Spitfire™

The Spitfire Series: three no-compromise Ti road frames.
Engineered for racers & sportive riders.

Whether you choose the Mk I, "entry-level" in price only, or one of the more expensive Spits, you still get the same attention to detail in design, engineering & ride. And the same Spindustrial Space Station Titanium throughout. We employ the same craftsmanship, skill & passion in fabrication & finish. So what's the difference? Geometries aside, the three Spitfires differ only in the level of tube profile & shape engineering. This is how we tune the ride & performance characteristics of a frame, increasing stiffness & shaving weight. It also increases production costs and hence the price differences.

Mk X Lightning™

Mk X: designed for the sort of rides most of us do most of the time. Go for a blast!
If you're not regularly riding 7-9 hour sportives or racing 250km Monuments, we reckon you might be missing out on a lot of fun. For us non-pros, we're lucky if our average spin gets to be a couple of hours long. So what benefit is a frame with geometry optimised for long distances & three week grand tours? Lightning is different. From its raised bottom bracket to increase cornering clearance, to its super short wheel base and steep head & seat angles, it already looks pretty fast standing still. Out on the road Mk X excels in sure-footed, millimetre precise handling. Then there's the lightning fast reaction to your every input. Guaranteed to put a smile on even the most experienced face. Test one and you'll be hooked.

Solo singlespeed Ti frames for track or street.
True track geometry & handling. Legendary Ti ride.

Solo Ultimo is built on the same highly manipulated, shaped all Ti tube set as its road racing sister, the Spitfire Mk III, taking its first victory on the velodrome on its debut outing at Calshott in Nov 2011, piloted by Jamie Scott. If you your bored of the usual suspects on track, or want the ultimate street fix, this is the bad boy you need.

10 Most Excellent Reasons To Make Your Next Bicycle A Titanium Super Bike From The Masters Of Spin

A Spin Ti bike is nothing less than hand crafted art in motion
The days of the artisan bike builders and truly unique parts have long gone. These days, everyone's on more or less the same bike, built with the same component parts. Well, we're on a mission to bring the art, the craft and the individuality back. With a vengeance.

You can't make Ti bikes in a hurry
You can't make them in a mould, or with any kind of slick mass production. Titanium is notoriously hard to work. It fights back and has a wilful, strong personality. We really love that. But what it takes from us during the many long and arduous hours of fabrication, it gives back to you on every ride. And we really, really love that.

Not all Ti is created equal: real craftsmanship is in short supply
But we happen to employ the world's finest aerospace trained Ti craftsmen and women, and their meticulous work is right there proudly on show. You can see it in every weld. You can feel it in every small detail. Nothing is hidden. We encourage you to compare Spin craftsmanship to that which you'll find on other metal bikes. Hold our Ti frames and components to account against the best you can find at any price. We believe you will not be disappointed.

Titanium looks like nothing else
We love all kinds of bicycles. But it looks increasingly to us that everyone is riding the same bike these days, no matter what name is on the down tube. See that carbon bike with the projectile vomit graphics? Crikey! There's another. They're all screaming "look at me". We prefer to whisper, and the Spit certainly doesn't need to shout.

Titanium rides like nothing else
Ti comes alive when you ride, and your bike becomes your ally and trusted friend. Steel is closest in feel. But that's only if all your rides are downhill. If you want to ride up hill and fast through the twisty stuff, then the lightweight custom shaped tubes of our Ti frames make for super responsive bikes that sacrifice nothing to stiffness nor power transfer. But just like steel, they don't beat you up.

Spin Ti is reassuringly metal. But it isn't heavy
We like metal. It's reassuringly tough. Yes it's true: titanium is special heavy metal. Yet we turn it into bicycles comparable in weight and performance to the very highest of high-end carbon frames. But instead of plastic you get a bike that is reassuringly metallic. We're talking high-end carbon as our comparison by the way, not the bog standard varieties found at the cheaper end of the aisle. Now, if you're a pro who's being paid to ride carbon then it makes sense. With 3 or 4 new (free) frames every year, who cares? But if you're not a pro? Still want to splash your cash to ride and eventually trash plastic?

The initial cost appears to be high but the lifetime cost isn't: Ti lasts
Impervious to rust, corrosion, road grime, scratches, knocks, dings and everything you can throw at it. No paint to scratch. Looks the same in 10 years as now. Take a good look at any top end carbon, alu or steel frame made 10 or even 5 years ago and see if it can make the same claim. The fact is, you're probably looking at trading in your all-singing & dancing carbon superbike every couple of years. You're thinking to yourself, and quite wisely, can I continue to trust a plastic bike where the entire structural integrity is hidden from view and is unknowable? You can trade in your Ti bike too, but the difference is that you won't actually need to.

The Titanium Spitfire, Lightning & Solo look pretty. But don't be fooled: they're hard as nails
Our road frames weren't named Spitfire by accident. Treat them like tools. Enjoy every minute of riding in even the foulest of conditions, safe in the knowledge that when the ride's over, your job's done. No worries about fastidiously cleaning every nook and cranny, wondering when corrosion, delamination or fatigue will start setting in. Just go and put your feet up. If you're the pilot of a Titanium Spitfire, Lightning or Solo, you've earned it.

The lessons from a lifetime of riding
Titanium is an engineer's dream material and it's perfect for bikes. But only if you know what makes a great bike before you even think about bending metal. The lessons we've learnt are what differentiate a great bike from just any bike. It's the thought that goes into the smallest of details. It's these things that add together to make a huge difference over a lifetime of ownership. Not just to the ride and performance, but to your pride and satisfaction.

The Spin School of Bike Engineering & Design has evolved through our own years of riding and studying other people's bikes. The best bikes in the business. Those lessons from a lifetime of riding are precisely those we put into every Spin titanium bike and individually hand crafted component.

Lifetime warranty & crash replacement programme
Dear friends, we're really sorry to bring you some bad news. But our titanium frames and parts will most probably outlast their owners, our beloved customers. But, hey. At least you'll have something nice to leave the kids.

Reason #11 Because the Spin Doctor always cranks his stack to 11
Fully optimised front & rear end package to Spin Your Ride

With Spin, if you choose our fully optimised T5 frameset bundle or complete bikes from right across our range, you get much more than just a great Ti frame. We've fine tuned and optimised our frames and custom parts to work in total harmony. Adding to, not detracting from the ride and the beauty. So you can match any of our Ti frames to tuned titanium and carbonic super kit to properly Spin Your Ride.

A serious performance bicycle can only ever be the sum of all its parts, just like an F1 car or fighter jet. If one key component is inferior to the rest, the overall result is noticeably inferior. At Spin, we simply don't do inferior. Just properly proper.
